Elsa was perfect. He wouldn't even alter it to Eelsa, and he liked the similarities between his Elsa and the one in the Born Free book. Lions were animals that scare people and yet in the story Elsa was shown as loving and mostly gentle. Eels are much the same: scary in form, with a bad reputation. Humans wanted to kill them just because they were carnivores or, like Cameron, to show how strong and tough they were. The Adamson family who raised Elsa the lioness had to protect her from poachers and big game Hunters. Matt knew that he would need to do similar things for his Elsa.
Why did Matt settle on the name Elsa for the eel? What would you have called the eel and why? He called the eels elsa because of the personality.
